On January 17, 2017, members of the global Lehigh community were guests of U.S. Ambassador to India Richard R. Verma '90 at a reception at the U.S. Embassy in Delhi during the last week of his term. During his remarks, Verma shared his fondness for Lehigh, as well as the exciting activities happening in Bethlehem, including Lehigh's engagement strategy in India and university programs in entrepreneurship, creativity, and innovation. Top Lehigh leadership in attendance who also shared university initiatives were Cheryl Matherly, vice president and vice provost for International Affairs; Steve DeWeerth, dean of the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science; and Lisa Getzler, executive director of the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity & Innovation.
