Record crowds came out on a very rainy day for a special Founder's Day that not only celebrated Lehigh University's founder, Asa Packer, and recognized the leadership of students, staff, faculty, trustees, alumni, and friends who continue to make Lehigh the remarkable institution that it is, but also the installation of Lehigh's 14th president, Dr. John D. Simon. Packer Memorial Church was filled to capacity, and still more people joined the ceremony from the Grace Hall Viewing Party to welcome our new president. Board of Trustees Chair Brad Eric Scheler '74 '05P '08P '09PG had the distinct honor of installing John Simon as Lehigh's 14th president. Special guest Robert D. Sweeney, Senior Vice President of University Advancement at the University of Virginia and role model and mentor to John Simon, offered some introductory remarks as well. Photos by John Kish IV.
