Lehigh students who form the Lehigh Student Chapter of the United States Association for Energy Economics (USAEE) and the College of Business and Economics hosted Lehigh's first-ever Energy Symposium on campus in Rauch Business Center on April 20, 2018. The goal of the symposium was to discuss China's role in the global energy landscape and its energy future. Industry, government, and academia experts gathered together to lend their expertise and insights, including Guy Caruso, former administrator for the U.S. Energy Information Administration, and Dr. David Knapp, president of IAEE. Together, they moderated a panel of renowned energy experts, including: Ayaka Jones, international technical advisor at Department of Energy's Office of Fossil Energy; Andrew Kleit, professor of energy and environmental economics at The Pennsylvania State University; Lynne Taschner '84G, energy advisor in ExxonMobil's Corporate Strategic Planning Department; Da Zhang, research scientist at the Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change at MIT; and Zhen Zhu, professor and Dr. Michael Metzger Endowed Chair at the University of Central Oklahoma.
